PFAPA syndrome

The acronym PFAPA syndrome is for periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and cervical lymphadenitis. The periodic disease manifests in childhood and is characterized by recurrent fever with symptoms of head and neck. 

Typically, febrile fever beginning every 3-8 weeks is usually recurrent, with a temperature higher than >39 ° C, and spontaneously develop after 3-6 days. These episodes are accompanied by the eponymous symptoms. as well as headache, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.

Patients grow normally during the symptom-free period. The disease disappears with age.
