Short rib-polydactyly syndrome, Verma-Naumoff type

The short rib-polydactyly syndrome, Verma-Naumoff type, is a lethal disease. The development of shortened ribs leads to a concomitant underdevelopment of the lungs.

The syndrome belongs to the osteochondroplasia and is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait. Other clinical signs include shortening and dysplasia of long bones and polydactyly.
