Stüve-Wiedemann syndrome

Stüve-Wiedermann syndrome is a congenital autosomal recessive skeletal dysplasia. Characteristic for the disease is a short stature, bending of the long bones and a camptodactyly.

Furthermore, complications such as fever or respiratory distress may occur. The prognosis is very bad, most patients die due to shortness of breath shortly after birth. Few survive the first year of life.
