From 20 to 24 April 2021, the SMHS will take place for the first time as an online congress. The Sports, Medicine and Health Summit 2021 combines medical research with health policy and popular science aspects.
Under the motto "Health, Performance, Training", the Sports, Medicine and Health Summit 2021 is a completely new online congress. The Summit from 20 to 24 April combines the 49th German Congress of Sports Physicians, the 9th Congress of Exercise is Medicine Europe and the 8th Symposium of the AG Diabetes, Sport and Exercise. Thus, the virtual SMHS 2021 represents the largest interdisciplinary further education forum for physicians, scientists, physiotherapists and practitioners from the fields of sport, medicine and health.
The costs for participation in the online congress vary depending on the field of activity. For example, the registration fee for members of the DGSP (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sportmedizin und Prävention, German Society for Sports Medicine and Prevention) is 300€ and for members of the dvs (Deutsche Vereinigung für Sportwissenschaft, German Association for Sports Science) 200€. For physicians, the costs for registering at the Sports, Medicine and Health Summit are 380€, for sports-/scientists, physiotherapists, supervisors, trainers or participants in other professions 240€. Tickets to the SMHS 2021 cost 80€ for students upon presentation of a copy of the student ID or a confirmation from their university. In addition, day tickets can be purchased at a cost of 180€. With the exception of day ticket holders, the content of the Sports, Medicine and Health Summit will be available digitally to all participants for 6 months after the congress.
The 1st Sports, Medicine and Health Summit in an online format is under the patronage of the First Mayor of Hamburg, Dr. Peter Tschentscher, and chaired by Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h. c. Jürgen M. Steinacker from Ulm University Hospital. In addition to the scientifically oriented part of the SMHS 2021, classic medical training courses will also be offered, in which current findings in sport and exercise science and sports medicine will be presented in the form of overview presentations and workshops.
